Have you heard about the Miler?

The Manotick Road Race has had a face-lift and taken on a new name and style – the Manotick Miler. Last Year was the third annual race and the most successful. Our number of participants increased by 500 per cent to a total of 1500 and the Race Expo provided entertainment and an annual barbeque for the whole community. We estimate that as many as 4000 people joined in the fun at the event, a real shot in the arm for the village of Manotick.

We at inStride Event Management have developed a three-year plan for the Manotick Miler! Briefly, we are planning for an increase in numbers to 5000 participants by 2016. With three years of success and a solid profile established in the community and the Ottawa running scene, we are now poised for fresh growth. Our operating philosophy has been hands-on and will not change even as we adapt to this exciting period of growth and development.

The popularity of road races is at an all-time high. Since Terry Fox attempted to run across Canada to raise funds and awareness for cancer research over 30 years ago, Canadians have continued his legacy by holding local road races to help raise funds for cancer and other charitable causes ever since. From a 1K walk to full marathons, these races appeal to everyone young and old and have become integral family events. We look forward to seeing you all again on April 27th!

Hi,

I am interested in running the 10mile and my wife might do the 5mile if the timing is right for both of us. What I would like to know is – what are the start times? I cannot find them on the web site!

Thanks,

Al.

Don’t go too crazy increasing the numbers of the race because the best races are the smaller ones. I shy away from the bigger ones..too crowed:-)
